Still waiting for life to slow down...

So, I thought once Kylie's party was over things would slow down around here a little bit, I guess we weren't living life in the fast lane, we were just living normal life with two kids. Because it seems like in the blink of an eye it has become almost February...crazy time. Not much new to really report, just busy as always. Kylie is getting over being sick...just a runny nose and cough, but she apparently gave it to Jason who is fighting it off currently, and Beck and I both woke up feeling under the weather also. Guess I can't complain, seeing as we've been sickness free all winter long..its bound to happen at some point and I'm just glad its a cold instead of something worse...but I'm not going to lie, its so sad to watch Beck cough.

Anyways, I just wanted to post some new pics of the kiddos since Jason and I have both been doing a much better job actually taking some...Kylie and I are getting ready to do some homemade valentines for her party at school. she picked out an elephant design all by herself so that should be fun.

Look who's 4?

We celebrated Kylie's 4th birthday in style over the weekend with a Pajama Birthday Bash at the house. Many of her friends from Church and school, and even some family friends were able to stop by to help celebrate! Nothing like have ten 4 yr olds and three 2 yr olds running around your house. They decorated tshirts, played pin-the-tale-on-the-donkey, sang and ate cupcakes, put on butterfly tattoos...and just about destroyed our playroom...dumping every single toy imaginable on the floor. But in the end, Kylie had a great time...and that's what its all about. Although I'm not going to lie..I had a migraine the whole next day due to the stress...but watching Jason in his p.j.'s playing with all those girls totally made it worth it!

She was so excited to wear the shirt she decorated to school the following week so she could show all her friends and teachers what she had made. Thanks again to everyone who was able to come help us celebrate! It really was a fun time for Kylie and a party I will cherish forever!

3 Months already???

Time is flying by way too fast for me. Beck is three months old today (and is also currently taking a nap in an outfit that is 6-9 months...such a big boy). Here are some pics of my handsome man. He has recently discovered that his feet are connected to his body, so I made sure to include that pic as well.

I've also included some pics of Ky from her actual birthday, which was Wednesday. We went out to eat at Cheddars so we could chow down on a cookie monster. Pics from her party this weekend to come shortly...

Thumb Sucking...

Beckham has decided that he no longer wants anything to do with his pacifier. The only problem is that he's not quite coordinated enough to keep his little thumb in his mouth. This is causing issues at night, and he's been waking himself up just because he's frustrated. Doesn't that sound like fun??? Kylie never once tried to suck her thumb and therefore I'm torn as to weather this is a good thing or not. With Kylie, it was very easy to take the paci away at 6 months, but you can't exactly take a thumb away. I've just heard so many horror stories of thumb blisters and five year olds who still can't break the habit. On the up side, he's quick to sooth himself, and I don't have to worry about lugging a paci around or continuously putting it back in his mouth...I guess only time will tell.

He's also been talking (baby style) non-stop lately, which is pretty enjoyable. He has so many facial expressions that he really seems to be deep in conversation with you, and sometimes even himself. He is also drooling EVERYWHERE! I don't ever remember Kylie being this bad, at least not this early. The boy is like a drool faucet! And let's not even talk about how quick he's growing out of all his clothes. I took him to the doctor with me last week and here's the conversation between the nurse at the front desk and me. Her, "Aww, what a cute baby, how old is he, six months?" me, "no, 11 weeks." her, "Holy crap! no way! he's huge! (pause) well...at least he's proportional."....nice. I can't help but laugh, mainly because I can't argue, he's a BIG boy!

My little princess, Kylie, turns 4 tomorrow! I can't believe how quick time seems to fly by. It seems like just yesterday she was learning how to walk, and now...well...lets just say I can already predict the future and I can tell that she's going to be a HORRIBLE teenager. She's too smart for her own good, stubborn like her daddy, emotional like her mommy, and she isn't afraid to lie (something we've been working on with her a lot lately). She has her pajama party this weekend and everyday she asks if any more of her friends called to say they were coming. It's pretty funny. I only hope she enjoys it as much as I think she will!

Visit with family

Jason's brother and his brother's three kids came down for a quick trip to Texas New Year's Day. Kylie had a blast hanging out with all of them. In fact, as I was putting her to sleep one night she decided to tell me, "mama, I love Jacob...I love Jacob and Memaw." I asked her if they were the only people she loved and she responded with a resounding yes...Made me laugh. While they were here we took a trip to the Natatorium in Allen, went downtown to check out the JFK museum, made a trip to the library with the little ones, and of course...did some shopping with the girls. I don't know if our house has ever been as loud and bustling as it was having five kiddos around. Its going to take a while to get use to the quiet again.

Beckham is now starting to laugh, which is a lot of fun. Every time you tickle him, starting at his toes to his belly he does this funny thing where he holds his breath and then lets out this big laugh, like this is the only way he knows how to get it out. His two month check up went well. Of course, he's in the 95% for height, weight, and head circumference, not that this is surprising. Every time I tell someone he's 11 weeks old they look at me in amazement and talk about how huge he is. I can't say anything, they're right. He's recently been introduced to the bumbo seat and he seems to be a big fan, which is good since it gives him a break from swinging. It allows him to take in all the action. He just sits there turning his head from side to side with this funny grin.

Last week I went in for surgery and had the umbilical hernia fixed that I got while pregnant with Beck. The entire process turned out to be much more than I had expected. You don't realize how much you use your stomach for until you can't. Jason was a great help and hopefully soon I'll be back to normal...

Less than two weeks until Kylie's Birthday party and then I'm hoping things will settle down. I feel like we've all been running like madmen lately. The new year promises to be as busy and action packed as last year!
