Kylie time

It isn't very often that Kylie and I have time to hang out just us two. This weekend, both the boys' naps happened to coincide with one another, allowing Ky and I time to enjoy being girls! I pulled out the camera as she 'posed' for me on the couch. This girl is such a goober. But she makes my heart melt. This week officially starts our 'summer' schedule, which means she's only going to school two days a week. THIS should be VERY interesting. I've been praying for patience, creativity, and most of all ENERGY! Every day I am amazed by how smart this little chick is and what a good memory she has...she def. gets this from her dad. The other day we were going over her brain quest questions and it asked how many legs a spider has. She incorrectly said six and then corrected herself saying, "oh yeah, insects have six legs. Spiders have eight." I asked her if she knew what spiders were called and she calmly responded, "arachnids." seriously? What 5 year old knows that? I asked her how she knew that and she said her teacher told her that at school once.....amazing.

Her right eye is still a little swollen and you can tell in most of the pictures she takes, the doctor confirmed however that that's all it is, which was reassuring to hear.

Strat seems a little unsure of Sissy's excitement...

THE worst job in the entire world HAS to be cutting Beck's hair. We pull out all the stops...sucker, TV, Sissy's entertainment, and we usually end up getting about half the job done before he gives up. Go figure that his hair grows faster than any child's I've ever seen!

Beck found Kylie's heart stickers and took every last one off and put it on his shirt while he was in the play room by himself. Kylie was so upset that she cried, I couldn't help but laugh, he was so proud of himself. Here he is PROUDLY giving his cheese face and showing off his sticker abilities.

Strat is just now getting alright with his play gym...although apparently sometimes it lacks the entertainment factor as seen below.

First Trip to the Pool...

And by first trip, of course I mean Strat and I's first trip. J has actually taken Ky and Beck up a couple times, although I still have no idea how they do it since the water is still FREEZING in my opinion. Anyways, Jason had a couple extra days off over the holiday weekend and one morning it was warm enough to go, but breezy enough that Strat wouldn't die of heat stroke, so we loaded all the kids up and headed down. I really only stayed long enough to take a couple pictures and then Strat and I headed home (he was due to eat). Ky still LOVES the water more than anything and is doing a great job swimming. Beck is hit or miss, right now I think its just a little too cold. He's more interested in watching all the cars and trucks that drive by than he is actually being in the water.

Playing with Stratton

After I got Strat out of the bath the other day, he was in a pretty content mood, so I decided to try and snap a couple shots while the morning sun was filtering through the window.

Kylie's Preschool graduation...

I can't believe its already been 5 years since we welcomed my sweet Kylie into the world. Now she's all grown up and getting ready to start kindergarten in the fall. This past week, we headed to Whistle Stop, her preschool, to watch her and her friends 'graduate.' Nana, Dampa, and my Uncle, who was in town for training came along as well. My mom even thought ahead and bought Kylie a wrist corsage with tiny pink baby roses that she was able to wear.

I thought I'd be a bit emotional about the experience, but there were so many people there it was pure chaos. Add trying to keep both the boys still and quiet, and there wasn't really anytime to get emotional.

All the kids got to walk in, do the pledge and sing, 'God Bless America', and then proceeded to sing a couple songs. It was quite impressive what they were able to do. They knew all the continents, named all the states in the United States, went through the phonics alphabet while doing sign language to go along with it all, and counted to 100 by ones, twos, fives, and tens. Each child was able to come up and get their diploma while the director of the school shared info about each child. Kylie shared that her favorite color was purple, that her favorite thing to do at school was color, and that when she grew up she wanted to do gymnastics.

After the graduation, the school had an open house, complete with a bounce house, petting zoo, pony rides, balloon artist, train rides, and more. Ky and I were both exhausted when we finally heading home around 8:45, but she had a blast and that's all that matters to me!

Here are a couple of pics of my sweet girl, due to the amount of people and inability to really move to take pictures, none of the shots really turned out all that fantastic, regardless, I'm very proud of my biggest rugrat!

Singing, two separate times she knocked her and her neighbors hat off while doing the motions to songs. The teacher told the kids whoever sang the loudest and did the best job would win a popsicle. Ky took this challenge VERY seriously...in the end, they all 'tied' surprise, surprise, but she was happy anyways.

Stratton @ 12 weeks

Saturday Morning...

Jason asked what I wanted to do this past weekend since it was mother's day weekend and I told him that I wanted to have a lazy Saturday morning. I asked him to make me his pancakes from scratch that I love and then we loaded up the kiddos and took them to a new park not far from our house. Aside from the wind, it was a gorgeous morning. Stratton slept in the carseat through the whole thing, and aside from fussing a little, let us focus on Ky and Beck. The kids loved checking out the new playground and building sand castles on the volleyball court. I enjoyed the hour just BEING...instead of trying to mark stuff off our to-do list, which is never ending and encompasses most of every weekend we now have. All in all, it ended up being a wonderful day! I am very thankful for the family that God has blessed me with. I am thankful for the women in my life who are moms themselves, and I pray for the women in my life who are trying to become moms also. I am thinking of my mom, and all that she has done for me, which, as I grow older, I see more and more and appreciate more and more. And I am thinking of my three adorable babies and the two that we will see in heaven one day =) Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there!
