The "first" last First...

Beck went in for his 4 month check up on Friday, 16.8 lbs. and 27 inches, 75-90% in weight and 95%+ in height. glad to see he's at least coming down on the weight chart =)...anyways, he got the not so fun shots that gave him a temp and made him a monster through sat. night, those are always fun. Doc said we could start him on some cereal and thus we did. Its really all bitter sweet for me. Part of me is super excited because its something new for him, the other part of me is sad because, seeing as this is our last little person, I know its the last set of firsts we'll all get to experience. He did really well with it surprisingly. Made very little mess and ate an entire tablespoon which is a good bit for the first go around. I'm playing around with the idea of making my own baby food when he's ready for it. I didn't ever try it with Ky, but I'm home now so I have the time, its cheaper, which is always nice, and I have to imagine it has to be at least a little better for them than the canned stuff. We'll see...

Kylie came hope from school on Friday and out of the blue recited to me the entire pledge of allegiance. It was pretty impressive. We've been hard at work with her learning her letters. Playing Boggle Jr. and games on the computer. I'm super impressed with how well she's doing. She struggles a little bit at times with the letters F, R, and sometimes gets E and A mixed up...i think because they can sometimes make similar sounds. At some point I would love to start her on site words. We found this great site for practicing letters...www.starfall.com, and dolchkit.com for site words when we get there and are ready for them. Today she has a birthday party to go to at a gym and next week is Great Wolf Lodge with her cousin Peyton. She's been waiting for this day for quite sometime. Here are some pics of the first feeding and some other random moments...
